Assignment #3 - The Board (Indiv)

The objective of this assignment is to develop an awareness of the value of formal and informal advisers in a business. It is also intended to help you with your group project by identifying outside coaches and mentors who will provide objective advice relatively early in your project.

There are academic and a practical aspects to this assignment.

Part 1- The Academic

Since this is an individual assignment, I expect you to do all research and analysis independently.

Assignment #5 - Final Elevator Pitch (Team)

Angel Forum Presentation

Each team will present their business idea to a simulated forum of angel investors.  The forum will consist of all BUS477 students and, potentially, a panel of distinguished investors from the Vancouver business community.

Like a typical angel forum, presenters are given very strict timelines to make their pitch for investment.  Each team will have seven (7) minutes to setup and make their presentation.  There will be a one-minute warning.  At the end of exactly 7 minutes, the presentation will end.

Assignment #5 - Business Plan (Team)

Business Plan

Each team will develop a formal business plan.  This business plan will provide all of the relevant background about the business in a format that a typical angel investor would expect.

Assignment #0 - Team Charter and Weekly Updates

Now that you have established your teams, I would like to see you create a team charter and keep track of your team meetings.  The charter will require an investment of a few moments of team time, but will save you many hours over the semester.  The weekly updates will help keep your team on track.

Here is an example Team Charter.  I expect this to be completed and submitted to the Team forum on or before the start of Class #4.
