Although we are not coming up with the ideas for our product on our own,I have been reading this site for a few years and it is quite interesting:

Basically people spot new goods/services being provided around the world, take some photos, and put up a description. There are some super niche ones on there, but a lot that can be replicated here in Canada.

It also has a sister-site, http://www.trendwatching.com, which produces monthly "trend reports" associated with the businesses on SpringWise and others.
