Learning Team Goals

1. We will make it to final three in Ken Spencer Competition
2. We will meet at least once a week to discuss our progress so far and things we need to accomplish by next week.
3. We will use our individual strengths to compliment each other’s weaknesses.
4. We will regularly use our team forum to exchange ideas and bring up problems and questions

What are potential barriers to the achievement of these goals?

The barriers we may have in accomplishing what we design to accomplish are the following:

Scheduling – Since everybody has different life style with different priorities, scheduling regular meeting time can be tricky. However, to overcome this problem, we will at least have one meeting a week after class.  Hopefully, this will not interfere with anyone’s busy schedule. When possible, we will arrange additional meetings.

Geographic barriers – All of us live in different areas, but we will utilize our forum and the Burnaby campus as our meeting ground

Exams and assignments barriers – because everyone has different classes, everyone will be busy at different time. To solve this problem, we will try to finish everything possible before the sixth week of class. Once everybody has finished their midterm, we will finish the rest of our project.

Ground Rules

  1. We will try to attend all meetings. If someone consistently skips meeting, as a group, we will discuss a better meeting time and hopefully this will solve the problem.
  2. We will try to finish our assignment on time. If someone cannot finish his assigned work on time, he needs to inform the rest of us. If it is because he doesn’t understand his tasks, he needs to communicate with the rest of us to understand what he needs to do. If it is because he doesn’t have enough time, we will forgive him until it becomes a problem.
  3. We will listen and respect each other opinions.
  4. We will use our forum as a main mean of communication.
  5. We will stick together as a team.
  6. We will help each other when help is needed.

Conflict Management

  1. Listen to each other problems and try to find a solution as a whole group.
  2. We will try to accommodate each other as best as possible.
  3. We will vote on things we cannot decide upon.
  4. As a last resort, we ask our Team member to resign from the team or we will forcibly dismiss them from the Team.
