What are potential barriers to the achievement of these goals? Communication/Timing barriers – Since we are we have very different schedules and obligations, meeting in face may become difficult. Regular emails will be incorporate as well as online group meeting to offset this and help keep us on track in addition to progress updates by team members.
Rules Meeting will be arranged on a weekly basis. These meetings are mandatory and if a member is unable to meet he/she is required to give at least 24hrs notice. Continual missing of meetings is not acceptable either. Online meetings via MSN or similar applications will be arranged for 1-2 times a week as well as continual emails. For every meeting, we will develop a structured agenda that will be used every time during a team meeting. This agenda will outline meeting goals and a progress timeline. We will not accept putting down of any member by anther. We will all work together and help will be provided by all team members to each other. If we conflict does arise we will resolve it as a team. Every team member should contribute as much as they can to help the project succeed; members should actively participate using his/her strength and skills. Team members should complete their assigned parts on time and ask for help early when necessary. Every team member has the right to express their ideas and/concerns; all members have a say in how the project runs and will be included in the decision-making process. All team members should inform the group that he/she has a clear understanding of their parts and the progress of the project. Conflict Management Sufficient trainings and experiences are needed for all of us to work cohesively in groups and to realize the benefits of teams. It is then unrealistic to think that the project will be without any hurdles or challenges. Some common problems include:
While there are many other potential conflicts, it is expected that they will be addressed/tackled immediately, before they become a larger problem. All team members are expected to be respectful, calm, and help each other as much as possible. Some strategies we are using to resolve conflicts:
